The Wonders of Middle School

It's time to talk about coaching middle school girls' basketball. Wow! Where to begin?
Runner to Runner
A Push in the Right Direction
By AJ
As a coach, mentor and friend, I think it is important to keep in mind that we all have things that we are working through at different stages of our lives. Sometimes, it is helpful when someone gives us a little push in the right direction.

ATC to ATC
My Least Favorite Part
By Kathy Malone, ATC
As an athletic trainer, one of my least favorite things to do is tell an athlete that they are not medically cleared to participate. When it's because of an orthopedic injury and the athlete KNOWS they are not able to play (because they can't run or lift their arm), it's not so difficult. BUT when it's because of a concussion or a not-quite-healed brachial plexus injury, well...the news doesn't always go over so well.
Captain to Captain
Do your Best
By Valerie Gin
My dad often told my brother and me that it was imperative that we try our best.
Hunger
By Roger Lipe
One of Solomon's most insightful proverbs is listed at chapter 27 and verse 7, "A sated man loathes honey, But to a famished man any bitter thing is sweet." This proverb has had greater impact upon me since I've been serving internationally with sportspeople. This last week was a refresher course for me on the power of hunger; physical, intellectual and spiritual.
